This year I traveled multiple times to New York City, for reasons that will not be shared here (it may or may not involve heartbreak). All these visits to the Big Apple, reminded me of my fascination when I was younger of wanting to be part of this city at some point in my life. I’m not sure why, because it seems like a complicated city to live in (so used to the 305) although I do love the fact that it is alive at whatever time you are out on the streets. From everywhere I have walked around, it’s definitely not the cleanest city but there’s some charm to it. There’s beautiful picturesque areas like Central Park; you can get lost walking through there the entire day.
Or walking the entire Brooklyn Bridge full of people exercising, exploring and taking pictures.
There’s also DUMBO, (short for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) which was super packed with people taking their picture, myself included. This city is great for people watching, I can just sit all day looking at people rushing from place to place wondering who they are and where they are going in such a rush.
There’s incredible architecture, a city always in construction and full of life. A city full of diversity with people from every part of the world. Walking around Washington Square Park is also a beautiful way to spend a nice afternoon, there’s live music almost in every corner of this incredible city.
We can’t forget Times Square, the busiest part of town, with people from all over the world walking these streets, shopping and looking for the best Broadway shows to see.
What do you love about NYC?
Have you visited before?
The charm of this city is in the streets, the people and what you can see and do In one day walking through it. And the only way to experience that is by becoming one more resident of it. The music in the train while you commute, Washington square park and just being here makes you never want to leave. Also you need to move here 6 month and see for yourself
