Discovering Dénia, Valencia.

I spent my weekend in Dénia, Valencia. I took the Ave train from Madrid to Valencia which was about an hour and 40 minutes. From the train station, I had a one hour car ride all the way to my destination, Dénia. The weather was perfect,it wasn’t too hot or too cold. I arrived at around 10:40 PM on Friday night, so I decided to get some pizza at a local restaurant and head over to the apartment.

On Saturday, I had breakfast at a little cafe by the pier. I spent the day walking around the beach and pier. I ended up going into town for a late lunch.

As I was walking around, I found an outdoor market. They had all kinds of ham, cheese, jewelry, handmade scarves and tons of olives and honey. I wanted to buy it all. By then it was already getting dark so I decided to have a frozen yogurt at LlaoLlao.

On Sunday, I had breakfast early at the apartment on the terrace overlooking the yachts. After that, I went for a hike in Mount Montgo. I didn’t know I would like hiking so much.

It was a really nice experience hiking in such a great weather. I believe I hiked approximately 9 km. The view from up there was just breathtaking. Going up the mountain was way easier than coming down but I managed.

After the hike, which took all morning and a little bit of the afternoon, I went to the apartment for a quick shower. I had lunch at Casa Federico. I had some of the best paella. Paella is a traditional Valencian dish with yellow rice as the main ingredient. It was such a delicious meal.

Monday was spent down by the lighthouse it was a long walk but with the grand view of the city of Dénia.

If you ever find yourself in Spain I really recommend visiting this side of it.
